Burn Support Organization
"I am 24 years old and for the last thirteen years I have been a
burn survivor. My Aunt, her boyfriend and her brother thought it was funny
to put me in a tub of hot water." The mission of the United States

Brian Birdwell: Face the Fire
Ministries
Lt. Col. (Ret.) Brian Birdwell is a survivor of September 11, 2001. When
American Airlines Flight 77 collided with the Pentagon, he was thrown to
the ground and engulfed in flames, suffering 60 percent burns, nearly half
of which were third degree. Face the Fire Ministries gives hope and
encouragement to burn survivors and their families.

Celia Buckler-Jones & Henry Coffeen III:
The Moonlight Fund
Celia Buckler-Jones received 34% burns in 1964, when she was 21 months
old. Henry Coffeen III was badly burned in 1998, when the fuel tank of a
plane he was flying ruptured. The Moonlight Fund was set up to meet the
needs of burn survivors, their family members, and families who have lost
a loved one to a burn injury.

Dave Borowski: The Flicker of Hope
Foundation
Six weeks after Dave Borowski was born, a spark set his bassinet on fire.

Dawn Colclasure: Palms to Pines
Dawn Colclasure, writer and mother, suffered third degree burns when she
was trapped under a burning van at the age of 20 months. "Even though
I don't look very pretty because of my burn scars, I am still grateful for
it, because it has helped me to value life more and to appreciate the way
people are on the inside and not on the outside."

Della Hines: The People's Burn
Foundation of Indiana, Inc.
In 1991, a fire in Della Hines' home claimed the lives of two of her
three children. Della and her oldest child sustained severe burns and
significant inhalation injuries. Della founded the PBF in memory of her
children.
