LINKS to Organisations offering Help and Support for Burn Survivors

The Children's Burn Foundation, based in California, provides financial resources to meet the physical, psychological, social and other special needs of severely burned children; serves as an advocate for children burned by abuse or neglect; educates children, families, care givers and emergency providers in burn prevention and treatment; and funds regional, state and national programs to accomplish these objectives.

The Children’s Fire and Burn Trust is a UK-based International Charity. They develop and run fire safety, burn and scald prevention programmes within the local community and work closely with specialist burns units, fire and rescue services, childcare specialists and government. They are strongly involved with the long term rehabilitation of children suffering from burns injuries and continue to expand their programmes both internationally and nationally in this area.

Dans Fund for Burns, a registered burns charity, was set up in Feb 2003 to offer practical help in a wide range of circumstances to burns victims in the UK. To do this they work with the support groups, the nurses, surgeons, physio's & OTs at hospitals such as East Grinstead, Roehampton, Salisbury & Selly Oak. They are willing to give funding to a whole range of needs whether it be burns related treatments, re-training, support etc.

The Firefighters' Burned Children Fund, Inc. (FFBCF) is dedicated to the support and recovery of burn patients and the prevention of burn injuries, raising funds to provide non-medical assistance to child burn victims, and developing and implementing burn prevention programs.

The Firefighters Burn Fund Victoria, BC is a non-profit volunteer society dedicated to the treatment, support, prevention and education related to burn and fire injuries. Recovering from burn injuries is frequently a long-term process. The Firefighters Burn Fund Victoria, BC helps to pay for costly items such as sets of pressure-healing garments, prosthetics, special braces or shoes, the rental of treatment beds, and other medical equipment.

The Firefighters Burn Institute is a non-profit organization founded by the Sacramento Area Firefighters Local 522 in 1973, for the purpose of establishing a local burn treatment facility; providing recovery programs for burn survivors; providing fire and burn prevention through public education; funding education for burn team professionals, firefighters, and burn survivors; and supporting burn treatment and rehabilitation research.

The Flicker of Hope Foundation (FHF), a charitable organization based in Virginia, was founded with the purpose of providing emotional and practical support for burn survivors and their families.
